The Place Studio

The Place Studio is an Acting training ( Meisner-based Method Acting ) studio. We are training professional actors, directors, drama teachers, creative film content makers and other performing artists, we are open to the people who are in search of personal development and and self discovery. The Place Studio hosts The Avant-gardes, film seminars with topic including film directing, producing, screen wright, cinematography, casting, action directing .etc. The purpose of The Avant-gardes is to create a community to share the knowledge and experiences from people in the industry, especially from film makers with multi cultural backgrounds.

Jello Dan is a coach, and an inspirational teacher of the art of acting. She has been leading The Place Acting Workshop since 2015 where dozens of actors, directors, and writers have trained as part of a larger family. Jello has been involved in numerous plays, musicals, and films in the past decade such as “The Real Thing”, “Eastern Standard”, “Chicago”, “Cabaret”, “The Turning Point”, “Olleana”, “The Rope Dancer”, “Hurly Burly” , “Sunshine”, and many more. She trained with director Maria Gobetti, actor/director Tom Ormeny, John Henry Richardson, and at the prestigious Ivana Chubbuck’s studio for over a decade.

She also teaches at Shanghai Vancouver Film Academy. This workshop is for actors who aspire to be more, are motivated to polish their craft, and understand the true value of self discovery. Jello is ready to grow with each and everyone on their journey to a better self.
