About Us

WEConnect International is a non-profit organization based in Washington D.C. with branches in 17 countries that aims to empower and support women business owners to succeed in the global and local markets. WEConnect is the only non-profit connecting women-owned businesses with multi-national corporate purchasing organizations outside of the United States. As the global certification body for women owned businesses, WEConnect envisions a world in which women have the same opportunity as their male counterparts to design and implement business solutions that create wealth and ensure the sustainable prosperity of their communities.

One of the key challenges for women entrepreneurs is gaining access to global markets. This is why with the funding support from the U.S. Government and others, WEConnect established Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) to certify women-owned businesses to help integrate them into the global supply chain. We Connect certification has helped many women-owned companies to sell their goods and services to participating multinational companies. In addition, several U.S. companies like ExxonMobil, Ernst & Young, IBM and Microsoft, to name a few, are leading the way in diversifying their supply chains.

Our corporate members collectively represent over 700 billion US dollars in annual purchasing power, including AT&T, Accenture, Cummins, Dell, Intel, HP, IBM, Marriot, and Walmart. Many other Fortune 500 companies have joined WEConnect to identify and engage with women-owned businesses outside of the US. These multinational corporations realize that achieving supplier diversity not only improves the total value of their offerings, but also creates more competitive supply options as well as contributes to economic opportunity in target markets.

The WEConnect International in China office covers the Greater China region, which includes Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, as well as Singapore, and Mongolia. In China WEConnect identifies, educates, registers, and certifies women's business enterprises that are at least 51% owned, managed, and controlled by one or more women.
