Event Details

WEConnect International in China is launching the “Empowering Women Together Campaign” on May 28, 2015 at the U.S. Embassy in Beijing from 16:30—19:30.

This event is in conjunction with UN Women in China, Asia Society China Center, and Women in Leadership (WIL). It will mark the inaugural collaboration between our four organizations. We will outline several key 2015 initiatives, in particular the upcoming WEConnect International in China Marketplace and the Women’s Rights and Empowerment Conference to be held later this year.

The “Empowering Women Together Campaign” aims to raise awareness of the key role women play in global economic development and sustainability, highlight the importance of working together to support women business owners and illustrate how that is both good for businesses and the community.

With gracious support from the U.S. Embassy in Beijing and WEConnect International in China’s staunch corporate partners, this event will be a unique opportunity for women entrepreneurs, corporations, NGOs, government representatives and community leaders to come together for close communication and understanding. We will have an engaging panel discussion with Executives that know gender diversity is the key to impactful change and ultimately growth in companies and communities. Hear personal experience on the “aha" moments that change one’s view on gender equality. Also hear the good, bad and the ugly on the challenges in changing cultures to empower women both in and outside of the companies.

WEConnect International in China understands that the “Empowering Women Together Campaign” is more than just a slogan, we firmly believe that cross platform collaborations and building on each-others’ strengths are the best ways to achieve women’s greater economic security and inclusion. Working toward this goal, WEConnect International in China has consistently brought together industry leaders in women’s advocacy, community, business and government to share best practices and provide targeted education on how to grow businesses, foster inclusion and build the community at large.

In 2015, WEConnect International in China will expand and strengthen existing initiatives, broaden our network of women entrepreneurs and continue to build relationships with both national and international partners.
