Ted has over 20 years of digital transformation experience spanning pharmaceuticals, banking, media and education at both multinational and startup companies globally. He is currently the Chief Digital Officer at Sanofi Greater China, responsible for setting the strategy and driving digital transformation across the company through digital platforms/ technology, data analytics/ data science, innovation, digital partnerships, and agile ways of working. He is also a Board member of Amulet Health Technology, a fast-growing startup delivering virtual healthcare for chronic diseases, and a Digital Board Member of FountainVest Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on China investments.

Previously, Ted was Head of Partnerships, Asia-Pacific at HSBC and the Head of Digital, China, where he drove the digital makeover of the retail banking and wealth management group through partnerships with technology giants and the creation of new digital touchpoints, products and services. Prior to HSBC, he was the CEO of Zoodles, an award-winning mobile app startup personalizing kids’ education through AI/machine learning and backed by HTC.

Ted started his career tackling digital impact on the media industry. He served as an Independent Board Director of Taomee, a leading Chinese children’s digital entertainment company (NYSE: TAOM.) Ted was also BBC Worldwide’s Executive Vice President for Asia driving transformative growth, especially through digital, across TV channels, digital media, program production and distribution, consumer products, live events and Lonely Planet. Before joining BBC, Mr. Lai was Senior Vice President at Warner Bros. where he launched the WarnerTV Channel with accompanying branded video on demand service across Asia to address rising online viewing patterns, in addition to managing the program distribution and production offices in Greater China and Korea. Prior to relocating to Asia, Ted was a business development and product management executive in the US at several high-profile digital media startups, including idealab’s FreePC from inception to merger and billion dollar IPO on the NASDAQ. He also developed strategic plans for new virtual reality location-based entertainment centers and theme parks for the Walt Disney Company.

Mr. Lai earned his MBA degree at Harvard Business School and MS Engineering-Economics and BS Electrical Engineering (with Computer Science emphasis) degrees at Stanford University.

Qiuqiang Kong received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Surrey, Guildford, the UK in 2020. Following his Ph.D., he joined ByteDance AI Lab as a research scientist. His research topic includes the classification, detection, and separation of general sounds and music. He is known for developing attention neural networks for audio tagging and winning the audio tagging task in the detection and classification of acoustic scenes and events (DCASE) challenge in 2017. He has co-authored over 40 papers in journals and conferences including IEEE/ACM Transactions on Audio, Speech, and Language Processing (TASLP), ICASSP, INTERSPEECH, IJCAI, DCASE, EUSIPCO, LVA-ICA, etc. He has been cited 773 times, with an H-index 15 till Aug. 2020. He was nominated as the postgraduate research student of the year at the University of Surrey, 2019. He is a frequent reviewer for over ten world well-known journals and conferences including TASLP, TMM, SPL, TKDD, JASM, EURASIP, Neurocomputing, Neural Networks, ISMIR, CSMT, etc.

Based in Shanghai, Bin (William) Xu is Pfizer’s Digital Innovation Lab Lead responsible for China & APAC. Joined Pfizer in April 2020, he has been driving the pharma giant’s open innovation initiatives across a wide spectrum of R&D and Commercial priorities, actively engaging Pfizer with the start-up and emerging technology communities in Asia and worldwide. For example, he runs Pfizer’s Vaccine Open Innovation Challenge and pilot accelerator for China and co-led the 2020 Healthcare Fintech Alliance (HFA) Innovation Challenge on patient accessibility and affordability across EM Asia. He has also represented Pfizer as a avid contributor of a number of key industry events and high-profile government-sponsored programmes – for example, the Global Bio-Economy Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition in China and Enterprise Singapore’s SLINGSHOT HealthTech, BioTech & MedTech track – designed to support healthcare start-ups in partnership with both the public and the private sectors.

Prior to joining Pfizer, Bin ran his own start-up consultancy and provided end-to-end advisory solutions to early- and growth-stage tech ventures in Europe and Asia on issues spanning market analysis, business modelling, commercial and operational due diligence, financial planning and fundraising. Before this entrepreneurial endeavour, he had held various positions in public and private equity investment, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategy consulting and NGOs/think tanks, specialised in healthcare and technology.

Sern co-founded ET.C with Ming Zhou, who previously led the design and development efforts of the Orange Hotel brand in the region for the Huazhu Hotel Group. Zheng Zeyu co-founder and CEO of Zhiyi Technology, a company committed to utilizing cutting-edge AI, data mining technologies in the field of apparel industry manufacturing, changing the status quo of low informatization and dataization in apparel design and production, and providing enterprises with integrated services of design and supply chain. Zheng Zeyu has fully leveraged many years of experience in AI projects, and through the latest AI deep learning tool TensorFlow, quickly led the team to realize the analysis and processing of massive information, and completed the three major products of Zhiyi, Zhikuan and Yixuan. At present, Zhiyi Technology products have acquired thousands of apparel users including Peacebird, Hailan House, UR, GXG, Mark Wafer, Smith Barney, Ruhan, ARTSMAN, raising over 200 million yuan investment funds from well-known venture capital companies such as Hillhouse Capital.
 
Zheng Zeyu graduated from Peking University in 2011 and was awarded Outstanding Graduate of Peking University, writing the top ten graduation thesis of the School of Information Science and Technology. Later, he furthered his studies at Carnegie Mellon University (USA), obtaining an MS in computer science. Zeyu was named a Siebel Scholar and has many years of research experience in the field of machine learning and AI, publishing many academic papers at top international conferences such as SIGIR, ACL, ICDM, and ICWSM. Zheng Zeyu published the first domestic AI TensorFlow book "TensorFlow: Practical Google Deep Learning Framework", which was rated as the most popular technical book by Electronics Industry Press in 2019.
 
Zheng Zeyu co-founded Caiyun Technology in 2016 and served as the Chief of Data Science, responsible for the development of AI platforms and algorithms. He led the team to successfully develop the first mature distributed TensorFlow AI platform (Clever) in China. Based on this platform, the Caiyun big data team provided targeted AI solutions for multiple industries such as security, e-commerce, finance, and logistics, and is a pioneer in the implementation of artificial intelligence in China. Before returning to China to start a business, Zheng Zeyu was a senior engineer at Google in the US. Since joining Google in 2013, Zheng Zeyu has participated in and led a number of big data projects as a key technician. The product clustering project proposed and led by Zeyu is used to connect Google Shopping and Google Knowledge Graph data, making knowledge card advertisements gradually replace traditional product listing advertisements, and opening a new era of Google Shopping advertisement delivery on search pages.
