The German Mechanical Engineering Commercial Services Co., Ltd. (GMECS) is a service company under the umbrella of the VDMA. It was founded in Beijing in 2011 and has a branch in Shanghai. GMECS is organizing events, trainings and delegation trips and provides commercial services for VDMA members and affiliated companies.

he city of Pinghu locates in the center of Yangtze Delta. It’s in northeast of Zhejiang, and also a neighboring city of Shanghai. Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone (PEDZ) was established in 1996 and upgraded to a National-level Development Zone in 2013. PEDZ, with a planned area of 65 km², has attracted more than 1000 enterprises, more than 300 of which are foreign direct investments, mainly mechanical manufacturing industries and bio-tech (food) industries. PEDZ has established the European (German) Industrial Park with an area of 2.4 km² since 2015, which has become an important part of the Sino-German SME Cooperation Zone in Zhejiang Province since 2017. There are currently more than 50 European and American companies in PEDZ, including 32 German companies, such as thyssenkrupp, Viessmann, Stabilus, Liebherr, etc. Today it has become one of the most concentrated industrial parks for German companies in Zhejiang Province.
