About AustCham Beijing:
The China-Australia Chamber of Commerce in Beijing (AustCham Beijing) was established in 1996 and has as its goal the advancement of the broader Australia-China business relationship through the effective representation of its 250 members. We achieve this through building connections between our members and broader stakeholders in Australia and China, delivery of effective advocacy programs and provision of information and insights through our business events and online platform.

Core to our ability to deliver on our mission are our member-led industry forums. All of our events have a strong industry focus. We release White Papers and industry specific position papers throughout the year, an important medium for communicating member priorities. The Chamber regularly engages with government and other key stakeholders on issues of concern to members, and actively contributes to the public debate. Importantly, AustCham Beijing runs unique programs for students of Australian universities and recent graduates which provide opportunities for work experience, mentoring and cultural training. Our members believe in the importance of investing in our future business leaders, and this is a Chamber priority. AustCham Beijing works closely with its sister Chambers in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Bohai, Chengdu and Hong Kong, under the AustCham Greater China banner.


AustCham Future Business Leaders:
The AustCham Future Business Leaders Program is an elite career-development event series operating in cooperation with Australia-China business leaders from AustCham member companies. As part of this program AustCham will select up to 50 outstanding young leaders in Beijing from a range of professional and academic disciplines to take part in this on-going event series.

The purpose of the program is to prepare young future business leaders with the knowledge and networks necessary to thrive in business between Australia, New Zealand and China through regular events. Participation in this program will allow participants to broaden their professional network in China and to showcase their leadership potential and knowledge of industry in China to current and future employers.

Company visits in the last year include; Huawei, Evoke Motorcycles, China Policy, Sino Gas & Energy, Hays Recruitment, Australian Embassy, Fonterra, Amazon and Hatchery.

Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA)

The Australia China Alumni Association (ACAA) was established in 2007 with the backing of the Australian Ambassador to China to support Australian alumni in China. Working closely with our university, corporate and strategic partners we engage with over 19,000 members, providing a variety of services, programs and events, including its annual flagship Alumni Awards, Mentor Program, Alumni Welcome Back Receptions, Career Development Events and Industry Discussion Forums. The ACAA provides a platform to both showcase Australian alumni's contributions to the various commercial and cultural exchanges between Australia and China, to help alumni across China to reconnect and to showcase the qualities of an Australian education.

Plug and Play

Plug and Play (hereinafter referred to as PNP) is a global technology accelerator that specializes in the acceleration of startups, and is also one of earliest accelerators. We aim to provide startups with an ecosystem of investments, mentorship, logistics, etc. Since 1998, we have accelerated over 6000 startups. Successful investment exits include PayPal, LendingClub, Dropbox and Logitech. We are active in more than 30 countries worldwide and have partnerships with more than 200 VCs and 300 corporates, all working closely to discover the next “unicorn.” In 2014, PNP came to China, and so far has established offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Xi’an and Shenzhen. We have invested and accelerated over 200 Chinese startups so far. Also, we have introduced over 100 High-tech companies from the Plug and Play Global networks into China, including US Silicon Valley, Germany, Russia and other parts of the world.

Danish Young professionals is a voluntary organization under the Danish chamber of commerce. We are tasked with socializing the young Danes in Beijing through networking, relevant seminars and cooperation with other chambers.

Although we, humans, see countless people everyday, we rarely step out of our own world to exist and learn in another’s; it is as if we live in parallel worlds or in Chinese, 平行国 “píng xíng guó”. This phenomenon becomes even more magnified when multiple cultures are involved, for example the current situation in China; locals and foreign expats simultaneously exist but seldom interact. Pingo Space steps into both worlds, providing a bridge for these disparate cultures. That brings us to our name, which originates from our Chinese name, which is 平行国 “píng xíng guó.”
