About this Seminar: Purpose Strategy – An Embedded ESG Approach
Sustainable development is not just about taking responsibility. According to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, sustainability leaders are able to develop appropriate corporate strategies and management, create long-term value for shareholders, maximize the potential of the market for products and services, and reduce the cost and risk of sustainability. To become a leader in sustainability means setting the right strategy, taking the concept to action throughout your organization, making decisions and choice that are good for the society and the environment, which in turn will benefit the company's long term profitability.
In this seminar, we will introduce the concept, value and some common frameworks of sustainability, which can be embedded into a company's strategy development:
- Introduction of Sustainability
- Introduction of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Introduction of Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) framework

Melissa Fung
Partner, Risk Advisory at Deloitte
Melissa, who has over 20 years of professional experience in the risk management and sustainability fields, is the Hong Kong Sustainability Leader in Deloitte Risk Advisory practice in China.
Melissa has clients in a wide spectrum of industries including the public sector, energy and resources, real estate development, construction, hotels, advertising, telecommunications, manufacturing and retail.
Melissa is a regular speaker for professional associations on topics relating to ESG reporting, risk management and corporate governance. She also provided ESG reporting, green finance advisory services, TCFD advisory services to various listed companies and fund managers.
In addition, she is a member of the Sustainability Committee of HKICPA, member of the Governance Nomination and Development Committee of the Hong Kong Red Cross and also the Governance Advisor of YWCA.
