Frustrated with the lack of resources related to women's health, Hillary Van Mansfeld set out to create her own health network in October 2019. Little did she know that in less than a year of founding Women Health Empowerment, Hillary Van Mansfeld managed to grow her little community into a nationwide health network.
Spanning over 5 provinces including Sichuan, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang, the majority of members now reside in major cities including Beijing, Suzhou, and Hangzhou.
When COVID19 hit, Hillary's health network proved to be an invaluable resource that helped women navigate the Chinese healthcare system while also connecting them to other timely and vital services such as gynecological services, STD testing, and birth control in various hospitals around the country. It also provided women with a safe place to discuss topics related to physical and mental health that might otherwise be seen as "taboo" in other places.
