Summer is finally back in Beijing! And what better way to enjoy those balmy, May evenings than heading to the hutongs for some fantastic art, an inspiring documentary as well as yummy drinks?
Beijing Women's Network is delighted to invite you to the opening party of Varvara 'Varya' Kotsebuk's photography exhibition at Cafe Zarah on Thursday, May 13th! The exhibition revolves around Varya's expedition to one of the most mystifying and unknown corners of our planet, the continent of Antarctica.
Varya is not only a uniquely talented filmmaker and photographer, but has also carved a successful and colourful career in broadcast media. As a true explorer, she left her homeland Russia several years ago to relocate to China and travel the globe.
To celebrate this special ocassion, Varya will screen her short documentary 'Feeling of Antarctica', which focuses on her expedition to the frozen wonderland as well as offer a brief discussion on her professional journey and what's inspires her creative work.

Varya is a Russian traveller, photographer, journalist, sinologist, and filmmaker. Varya has resided in China for over a decade and spends her time traveling around the world to capture unique and diverse landscapes through the medium of photography and videography. Her exhibition, also titled 'Feeling of Antarctica', captures the unique personality of this frigid and mysterious continent through viscerally abstract and emotional videography.
Varya has always used photography and videography as a way to communicate with the world at large. Striving to share the insights of her travels through art by breaking language barriers and making her accounts accessible to everyone.
