Founder of Popular Robotics

Sotirios Stasinopoulos was born in Athens, Greece in 1988. He received his Diploma in Electrical and Computers Engineering in 2011 from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece and afterwards he moved to Beijing, China. In 2017 he received his Ph.D. in Automation and Robotics by the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

He has worked as a robotics perception engineer and project manager in UBTech Robotics, mainly leading humanoid AI, CV and SLAM projects. He has joined RoboCup competitions with Adult-size humanoid robots and got 3rd and 2nd places in the years between 2014 and 2018.

He is the Co-founder of MENATHLON S.A. in Athens, Greece established in 2008, and has been its CEO since 2014. In 2018 he founded Popular Robotics in Beijing, a robotics company aiming to make robotics and AI accessible to everyone through online services, online education and professional networking. Its online platform Robociti (www.robociti.com) already has more than 10,000 registered users worldwide and provides products, services and organizes events in multiple countries.

In 2021, he also co-founded Pegasus AI Technologies, a company primarily dedicated to creating household service robots, and is developing a companion robot for pets as its first product. He is also a guest lecturer at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, China’s most prestigious design university, giving lectures about Innovation and Robotics Design.
