Jennifer is the Executive Director of Americans Promoting Study Abroad (APSA) a New York-based non-profit that unites and empowers diverse American youth through studying abroad. Since 2015, she has helped the organization launch it’s Global Alumni Network, develop its scholarship fund and refine its programs to equip diverse American youth with foreign language fluency, cross-cultural awareness, and 21st-century professional skills.
Born and raised in Canada, Jennifer has dedicated nearly 20 years to working with companies and non-profits in youth development, outdoor education, experiential learning and global education. It was a rock climbing trip that brought her to Yangshuo, China in 2005 and opened the possibility of developing a more global career path.
Passionate about women empowerment, Jennifer dedicates her spare time to supporting initiatives that promote women and girls in action sports.
Born to a family of Sierra Leonean Creators and Innovators in London, Miatta has over 10 years of unique media publishing experience. From the Media Publishing Edgware Road, in London, to the Social Enterprise Chinese Belt and Road, in Beijing she has grown a lot. Recently graduating with an MBA from one of the world’s leading business schools – Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management, she is now excited by learning more lessons as APSA’s LinkedIn Mentor.

Community is a source of strength. Miatta takes passion in engaging with different Beijing communities and delights in being a source of support.
Since studying abroad in August 2016, she has already managed content and marketing for a range of small ground-breaking Start-ups and big bold enterprises based in Beijing. This gives her an insightful perspective, for captivating Chinese and International audiences with the right ideas. She is interested in sustainable development in Africa-China agribusiness alliances and driving great social impact in and around these cross-cultural relations.
She serves as Business Development Manager, for China’s first-ever Africa Week, which saw hundreds of Chinese and expat communities come together to celebrate African culture in Beijing. This culminated in China’s first African Start-up competition, where all profits from the week were rewarded to a Ghanaian Accessories Start-up. Kente & Silk’s Africa Week will return bigger and better in May 2019. Her Africa-China Story has been a miraculous adventure and it continues.
