Hong Huang is a Beijing native who was educated in the United States. She graduated from Vassar College in 1984 and currently serves as a Trustee of Vassar College. Hong Huang is influential in China through her writing and she is known for her concern regarding women’s issues in China and support of Chinese design. In 2011, she was among TIME magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world. Huang has published three collections of essays and is currently working on her first novel.
