Wolfgang Röhr, born 1948, has since 2014 been Senior Research Fellow at the German Studies Center of Tongji University. After studying and working as an assistant judge in Hamburg, Tübingen, Geneva and Rio de Janeiro he received a PhD in law from Hamburg University.
From 1978 to 2014 he was a member of the German Foreign Service, serving i. a. six years at the Political Department of the Embassy in Beijing, eight years as Consul General in Shanghai and six years in Berlin as Head of the East Asia Desk and as Ambassador and Head of the Task Force Germany-China. He also was posted to Geneva, New York, Tel Aviv, Hong Kong and Lisbon.

He received a Doctorate in Economic Sciences from HEC Lausanne, Switzerland, and an MBA from European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel in Germany. He previously served as Chairman / Head of Office of Lukoil Asia Pacific Hong Kong Branch. Prior appointments include Tongji University, University of Nottingham Ningbo China, Portland State University, and Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He was a Visiting Scholar with INSEAD and a Visiting Fellow at Harvard University. He has 20 years of work experience and a global network throughout East and South East Asia, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.

Wenjia is a Certified Tax Agent qualified in China. Wenjia joined Ernst & Young Shanghai Office in year 2005 and has been working in the Tax & Business Advisory Department. During 2014 and 2016, Wenjia was relocated to Ernst & Young Düsseldorf Office working as senior manager for GSA China Tax Desk since then.

Prof. Hu Chunchun is Vice President of the China-German Research Center and the Center for Humanities and Culture Exchange under Tongji University. As a national and regional research and cultivation base authorized by the Ministry of Education, the German Research Center under Tongji University is a think tank with considerable influence and international standard in China to carry out forward-looking and predictive research. Its research directions and fields include: political & economic relations between China and Germany, China and Europe; Belt and Road Initiative cooperation between China and Europe, scientific & technological innovation research in European countries, and so on. Its publications include the German Development report (German Blue Book), German Studies and other publications. The Belt and Road Initiative German-Chinese Cooperation Forum is also jointly organized by this Institute with the political and economic circles of China and Germany and the representative organizations of the industrial and commercial circles.
