Managing Director of German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA)

Since February 1, 2019, Martin Koers is responsible for ManufacturerGroupIII, which includes suppliers, medium-sized businesses, aftermarket, development service providers and startups. He is also responsible for communication and events – including the IAA – and for economic intelligence and statistics, IT and digitization within the VDA.

After studying business administration in Münster (Germany) and Edinburgh (Scotland), he worked at the Institute of Marketing. After obtaining a doctorate, he was Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois (US), before switching to Ford Europe, where he held several posts. From November 2007 he was Head of the VDA Economic and Climate Protection Department.

Starting from Volkswagen South Africa, David Powels has served in VW Group for more than 30 years, assigned to Germany, Brazil and now China successively during his career.

With almost 30 years of management experience and more than 10 years being CEO and President functions, not only is he proficient in corporate operating and managing, but also has a keen insight into economic environment of automobile industry, market trends, new technologies such as NEV , Autonomous Driving, Artificial Intelligence and new business areas such as Mobility, Digitalization Transformation etc.

As President Brose China, Jenny Xiang is responsible for the business development and management of Brose in the Chinese market. She joined Brose in 1998 as Industrial Engineer in the business division Door, and was later appointed Operation Manager of Shanghai Brose Automotive Components, Director of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Brose Asia as well as General Manager of Shanghai Brose Electric Motors. Before assuming her presidency, she was Vice President Strategy Planning Brose Asia, responsible for mergers and acquisitions, joint venture negotiation and setup.

Jenny Xiang studied Mechanical Engineering at Shanghai Jiaotong University before earning her Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Dortmund University in Germany. She is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program (AMP) at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).

Enno Tang was born in 1971 in Shanghai. He studied automotive engineering in China and Business & Engineering in Germany. He has worked in the automotive industry in China and Germany since 1993 and accumulated in-depth experiences.

After joining Continental in 2004, Tang held several managerial positions in China. He assumed the Head of Business Unit Body & Security China in 2004 and the Head of Business Unit Electronic Brake Systems China in 2008. During his terms, he led the entire functions within the Business Units and laid a solid growth foundation for both Business Units in China market.

In June 2011, Enno Tang has been assigned as the Executive Assistant to Executive Board Member of Continental AG, since when he has moved to Frankfurt and supported the President and the Management Board of Division Chassis & Safety, especially on the strategy formulation and implementation of Division Chassis & Safety worldwide.

In August 2013, Enno Tang led the Business Development & Marketing function of Continental China after his repatriation.

In June 2014, Enno Tang has been assigned as the Head of Business Unit Vehicle Dynamics China and additionally he led Chassis & Safety Division in China and realized remarkable business growth of Chassis &Safety Division in China.

In June 2017, Enno Tang is appointed as President & CEO of Continental China to head the company’s business and operations in China market and directly reports to global CEO of Continental AG.

Enno Tang is married and has two children.

Having spent 12 years in the German Army and Air Force as officer, Bernd Pichler continued to experience 20 years in Volkswagen and Jaguar Land Rover in senior leadership roles like CFO, Sales EVP and General Manager. In January 2018 he started in ICONIQ Motors as CMO, readying the EV start-up to become a globally recognized brand. The graduated economist and EMBA spent the last 14 years in China, working successfully within WFOEs and Joint Ventures in market leading positions (TOP5). He married, has four children and is proficient in 4 languages, including Chinese.

Richard Zhang is CEO of KERN-LIEBERS China Business Group, the first German-invested enterprise in Taicang. In 1995, he joined KERN-LIEBERS as General Manager, and developed the company from 7 to presently more than 1200 employees. Mr. Zhang currently also serves as Member of the Board of the Germany Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and as Chairman of Taicang European Investment Enterprises Association (Taicang Roundtable, TRT) and Taicang Engineering Association. In his role for TRT, he is also involved in supporting the Sino-German Inclusion Factory Taicang. Furthermore, in 2001, under his guidance, KERN-LIEBERS established together with other German companies and the support of the AHK the Taicang German Technician Training Center, Taicang’s first German dual-system vocational training center. He also acts as Chairman of its Board. Mr. Zhang is a graduate from Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Jochen Siebert has more than 25 years of experience in the automotive industry and has led more than 250 projects in the course of his career. He graduated from the Technical University of Darmstadt with the Master degree in Industrial Engineering and started his career in a consulting firm specialized in telecommunications. Thereafter he joined Mannesmann Market Intelligence Unit as project manager, where he conducted major studies on Asian markets including China in mid 90's. Later he joined Milliken in Belgium as the Market Analyst and Planner for the airbag business in Europe. After that he was appointed Director Business Development and later Vice President Europe for one of the premier automotive forecasting houses. In 2007 he founded JSC Automotive focusing on the automotive industry in China, which has locations in Shanghai and Stuttgart.
