Bettina Schoen-Behanzin has 20 years of working experience in Asia leading operational business as well acting in corporate functions. From May 2001 to April 2008 she served as the Board Member of the German Chamber Shanghai, being Vice President from July 2005. Starting in March 2007 she implemented in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in Shanghai the “Vocational Education System” for skilled workers and was a member of the “China Education Board”.

On 17th October 2016, Dr. Sigrid Winkler (温哥乐) was appointed executive chamber manager at the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai. Dr. Winkler holds a PhD in political science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies from Vienna University. Before joining the Chamber, she was head of office of the Austrian Academic Exchange Agency OeAD in Shanghai. Previously, Dr. Winkler managed international business development projects in China and Eastern Europe for Business Upper Austria, the economic agency of the regional government of Upper Austria. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on EU-China relations, and since 2002, she has been regularly coming back to China for shorter and longer-term stays.

Before becoming Chief Representative in China Shanghai, Matthias Schäfer was head of the team Economic Policy in the Think Tank department Politics and Consulting of Konrad Adenauer-Foundation in Berlin.

In August 2017, Dr Althauser was appointed Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai. She grew up in Land Baden-Württemberg in Germany. After studying Political Science, Slavic Languages and Literature and Sinology in Heidelberg, Taiwan, Moscow and Luxembourg, she joined the Federal Foreign Office in 1985. She was posted to the German Embassy in Beijing from 1987 to 1990. From 1990 until 1993, she worked at the USSR/Russia desk at Federal Foreign Office headquarters in Bonn. She was subsequently posted to the German Embassies in The Hague and in Moscow. She has been seconded to the Policy Planning Staff at the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin, has been posted to the Permanent Representations of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union in Brussels and to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and has served as Head of the Crisis Prevention Division at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Ms Althauser received her doctoral degree from Heidelberg University and has lectured in Political Science at Freiburg University while working at the Federal Foreign Office’s Economic Affairs Directorate-General. Prior to her assignment in Shanghai, Dr Althauser was Head of the Press Section at the German Embassy in Moscow and also served as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Skopje (Macedonia) for three years.

Born in Jiangsu in 1971, Yuki Tan is a Chinese business entrepreneur with extensive experience in the Chinese retail market. After completing a degree in Business Administration followed by a degree in English at Beijing University, she created one of China’s most successful fashion retail businesses, Pilion Trading Co. (Shanghai) Limited. Launched in 2002, the company has been exclusively responsible for introducing the Folli Follie and Links of London fashion brands to the Chinese market. Headquartered in Shanghai with approximately 350 employees and 80 points of sale, the company was sold to its foreign partners in 2010. Yuki successfully introduced several fashion brands through a large national network of directly owned and managed points of sale. She has subsequently been recognized multiple times by leading organizations and media for her outstanding business skills: She was named one of the “100 Most Successful Female Leaders in China” by Women of China magazine. She was also chosen one of the “Top 10 Influential Females in China” by a national readers poll on sina.com, one of the “Top 10 Opinion Leaders in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan” by Guerlain, LVMH Group, and one of the “Top 10 Female Role Models” by Cosmopolitan magazine. In addition, Business Weekly named her one of the “Top 25 Business Women in China.” Today Yuki focuses on overseeing a diverse group of business interests as Chairwoman of Isthmus Resources Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based market-leading oil and gas consultancy firm. Further, she is the chairwoman of Asprey (China) Ltd., a company active in in the luxury goods sector in China.
