Ilaf Elard
Prof. at NYU ShanghaiProfessor Ilaf Elard serves as Assistant Professor of Practice in Economics and Core Faculty Member at the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) at NYU Shanghai. Professor Elard focuses on blockchain, fintech, and international macro-finance. His fintech research is policy oriented and has been cited in testimony in the U.S. Congress as well as informed the U.S. Treasury’s Office of the Controller of the Currency (OCC) and the U.S. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC)’s federal financial policy. Prior to Shanghai, Prof Elard served as Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Brown in the US. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Oxford.
