Mr. Veli Polat, was appointed Senior Director Sales Greater China Lufthansa Group Airlines as of 1st December 2016, he is responsible for Passenger Sales and Marketing of Lufthansa German Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines in the Greater China region including Hong Kong and Taiwan to further strengthen its presence in China market. Furthermore, Mr. Polat takes care of Lufthansa Group’s sales interests in the Air China joint venture.
Mr. Polat – who formerly held the function of Regional Director South Asia and Middle East of Lufthansa Cargo, based in New Delhi. After graduation as an electrical engineer, Veli Polat has been with the airline industry for more than 20 years, he has gained a lot of working experience in Asia, Europe and the Americas and has a profound understanding of both eastern and western culture.

In October 2016, Dr. Sigrid Winkler was appointed Executive Chamber Manager at the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and is in charge of the membership organization at the Chamber. Dr. Winkler joined the German Chamber earlier in spring 2016, initially as Project Manager Social Responsibility where she was responsible for the More than a Market initiative. Dr. Winkler holds a PhD in Political Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies from Vienna University. Before joining the German Chamber, she was Head of Office of the Austrian Academic Exchange Agency (OeAD) in Shanghai. Previously, Dr. Winkler managed international business development projects in China and Eastern Europe for Business Upper Austria, the economic agency of the regional government of Upper Austria. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on EU-China relations, and since 2002, she has been regularly coming back to China for shorter and longer-term stays.
