Dr. Verena Schäfer is Vice President Automated Driving at BMW China Services, responsible for developing and integrating software functions for automated driving in China. Working for 18 years in the automotive industry, she has extensive experience in Research and Development and has held various management positions in Electronics Division. With a PhD in innovation management she is keen to bring future technologies on the road.

Elisabeth Staudinger is currently President of the Asia Pacific region for Siemens Healthineers, based in Shanghai. Elisabeth joined Siemens in 1998 and has held several roles with increasing responsibility spanning procurement, strategy, manufacturing and R&D. Prior to relocating to the Asia Pacific region Elisabeth was global CEO of the Refurbished Systems Business of Siemens Healthineers.

Elisabeth has been closely connected to China since 1991, studying at both Nanjing and Peking Universities. In 1997, she spent some time working with ‘Advantage Austria’ the Austrian trade promotion organization in Beijing. After joining Siemens, she headed an international procurement office from 1999-2002 in Shanghai, returning briefly in 2004, and has been in her current role since 2018.

Elisabeth studied Sinology and Economics in Vienna, Nanjing, and Beijing and holds a master’s degree in both subjects. Since 2019, she has been an active board member of the Asia Pacific Medical Technology Association (APACMed).

Holly Lei has taken over as President of Covestro China based in Shanghai, effective July 1, 2019. With more than 20 years of experience in cross-cultural management around the world, Lei is the first local female leader for this position. Lei holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Dalian University of Technology in China and a master’s degree in material science from Université de Sherbrooke in Canada. Lei is also a board member of the Shanghai Chapter of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, and Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park International Experts’ Consultancy Forum.

Mrs. Mei Yang-Mille is the Managing Director of KARL STORZ Endoscopy (Shanghai) Ltd. She joined the company in 1999 and has been appointed as the Managing Director for Greater China since 2004. Under her leadership, KARL STORZ China has become an industry leading service provider to Chinese surgeons and clinical professionals. Being an important driving force for the development of minimally invasive surgery, Mrs. Yang-Mille is dedicated to promoting international academic exchange and professional trainings between Chinese and international top surgeons and medical experts. With the formal establishment of KARL STORZ China Center (KSCC) in 2020, the company demonstrates its strong belief in China’s tomorrow, and is looking forward to more contributions to “Healthy China 2030”.
