Brian Cupps is responsible for the overall leadership in Sports Marketing for Football, Basketball, Training, Running, Outdoor and Heartbeat Sports as well as in Entertainment Marketing in the Greater China. He joined adidas as Senior Director of BU Basketball firstly in June 2013 with extensive experience in sports industry. Before adidas, he has worked in Li Ning and Amplify etc companies, where he has accumulated solid experience of marketing strategy and insights, asset management, asset acquisition, commercial operation and financial planning etc in the Greater China.
Rouven Kasper is the Managing Director of FC Bayern Munich China, a role he has held since the inception of the new China operation of the world top football club in August 2016. FC Bayern Munich is the first international football club that has established formal operation in China. Rouven Kasper is based in Shanghai where their office is located.
Before heading the Chinese business for Bayern Munich, Mr. Kasper served over 10 years on different senior roles for Lagardère Sports, one of the leading Sports Marketing agencies in the world. At the end he was responsible for the sport marketing assets of Lagardère Sports in the province of Hamburg, including the commercial rights of the Football Club Hamburger SV.
Mr. Kasper studied at the University of Bayreuth (Germany) and Barcelona (Spain) and holds a Diploma of Sports & Economic as well as a Master degree of European Sports Management.
A qualified business economist, Patrick Stüber joined DFL Group in 2007 as a DFL Management Trainee. He developed into different roles in international audiovisual media rights thereafter and gained experience in sports media rights, international marketing and digital media, before his most recent position as Senior Manager Sales Americas & EMEA. At the beginning of 2019 Patrick was appointed Head of China for Bundesliga International to lead the organisation’s new office in Beijing. Prior to his career in the sports industry he worked for the Daimler Group, focusing on the Mercedes-Benz brand.
Shoto Xiaodong ZHU is the Founder and Chairman of OCEANS Sports & Entertainment Marketing Inc. He has 21 years of experience in sports marketing and management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Management from Hitotsubashi University in Tokyo, received his Master’s in
Sports Management, the CIES FIFA Masters, and is currently studying at the Harvard OPM program.
Mr. Zhu started his career at the J-League in media rights distribution and internationalbusiness development. He was appointed as the China GM of FIFA Marketing AG for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003. He has worked as a consultant for Dentsu Sports and China FA’s Marketing Arm, CFIDC. In 2006, Mr. Zhu founded OCEANS, which provides services in the areas of sponsorship, media rights distribution, and sports property management. OCEANS was listed in the Neeq market as the first Chinese domestic sports marketing company in 2014.
Michael is Cofounder & Managing Partner of Ward Howell International in China and IOT ONE. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the German Chamber of Commerce in East China.
Born in China, German by origin and with combined work experience in 6 countries spread over 2 continents, Michael is a true global citizen dedicated to cross-cultural cooperation. Having started his career in supply chain consulting, Michael later has co-founded an award-winning Human Resources Services practice in China. As Consultant Michael supports clients across their Leadership and Organisational Development challenges in China and broader Asia.
Michael is frequent keynote speaker on panels, conferences and seminars on topics around Leadership & Organization and Industrial Digital Transformation in China and broader Asia. For such occasions, he is retained by organizations such as the German, European Union and Australian Chamber of Commerce. He has co-authored the reference work "Human Resources in China" (ISBN 978-3-642-18208-2) and published a variety of articles for publications on Human Resources in Greater China. His current research explores effective leadership and organization in the context of digital transformation.
Michael holds a B.Sc. in International Business from Maastricht University and graduated with a M.Sc. CEMS with distinction in International Management from Rotterdam School of Management.
