Titus von dem Bongart qualified as German Attorney-at- Law in 1996. After working 10 years for other companies, he joined Ernst Young Shanghai as a Partner in 2006. He is a lecturer for Chinese Tax at the University of Hamburg as well as the Tongji University in Shanghai. Titus is the Vice-Chairman at the German Chamber of Commerce Shanghai and Chairman of the More than a Market Steering Committee.
Since 20 years, Titus von dem Bongart has regularly advised clients on various matters related to their China investment, e.g. the restructuring of their China stet-up/ China impact of international restructurings including supply chain models and other changes He deals with various matters related to different areas of foreign investment in China, e.g. forex, permanent establishments, tax compliance, tax efficiency and incentives Titus is a frequent speaker related to China tax matters and regularly publishes relevant articles He has served all Dax 30 companies with investment in China as well as a big number of medium sized and small scale companies in different industries.
In August 2017, Dr Althauser was appointed Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai. She grew up in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. After studying Political Science, Slavic Languages and Literature and Sinology in Heidelberg, Taiwan, Moscow and Luxembourg, she joined the Federal Foreign Office in 1985. She was posted to the German Embassy in Beijing from 1987 to 1990. From 1990 until 1993, she worked at the USSR/Russia desk at Federal Foreign Office headquarters in Bonn. She was subsequently posted to the German Embassies in The Hague and in Moscow. She has been seconded to the Policy Planning Staff at the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin, has been posted to the Permanent Representations of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union in Brussels and to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and has served as Head of the Crisis Prevention Division at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Ms Althauser received her doctoral degree from Heidelberg University and has lectured in Political Science at Freiburg University while working at the Federal Foreign Office’s Economic Affairs Directorate-General. Prior to her assignment in Shanghai, Dr Althauser was Head of the Press Section at the German Embassy in Moscow and also served as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Skopje (Macedonia) for three years.
Hong Chow joined Roche in March 2015, responsible for leading its pharmaceutical business in China with a wide range of products in key areas including oncology, virology, and transplantation.
Hong is currently Vice Chair of RDPAC and was instrumental in leading its R&D Working Group to develop the white paper on “Driving towards a Sustainable Innovation Ecosystem”, in collaboration with domestic Industry Associations.
Hong holds German citizenship and was honored with China’s First Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card. She is the recipient of the Magnolia Award (Silver) from the Shanghai Government.
Clas Neumann is Global Head of the SAP Labs Network since 2009, and has been leading the Fast Growth Market Strategy team since 2013.
