Mr. Ming Cheng Chien was born in Shanghai in 1955. He received his undergraduate and graduate educations in chemical engineering in the U.S.A.
He started his professional career in the U.S.A. in 1986 as a process engineer and subsequently held various technical and managerial positions with increasing responsibilities. In 2002, with Basell, he was expatriated to Milan, Italy as General Manager - Licensing and New Ventures - Asia Pacific, taking responsibilities for quite a number of technology licensing and joint venture projects in the region.
In 2008, Mr. Chien joined LANXESS as Managing Director of LANXESS Buna GmbH in Marl, Germany for the business of synthetic rubber EPDM. After the acquisition of DSM’s Elastomers, B.V. in May 2011. In February 2013, Mr. Chien was relocated back to Shanghai, taking over the responsibility as CEO of LANXESS Greater China for this increasingly important market of the global business.
In August 2018, Mr. Chien was appointed President Asia-Pacific Region of LANXESS to lead the newly established APAC regional structure covering Greater China, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and the ASEAN countries.

Paul Lindblad started his position as the President of WACKER Chemials (China) Co., Ltd. in January 2013.
Paul has more than 25 years of experience with the WACKER group on three continents. For the eight years prior to coming to China, Paul was a member of the Managing Board of WACKER’s silicon wafer subsidiary Siltronic AG.
Paul was appointed as the Deputy Chair of AICM since December, 2017. He also received Magnolia Gold Award from Shanghai Municipal Government in Sep. 2018.
Paul is an American, originally joining the WACKER group in California’s Silicon Valley. He has an MBA and a BS in Economics, both from Santa Clara University.
Executive Chamber Manager at German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai
In October 2016, Dr. Sigrid Winkler was appointed Executive Chamber Manager at the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and is in charge of the membership organization at the Chamber. Dr. Winkler joined the German Chamber earlier in spring 2016, initially as Project Manager Social Responsibility where she was responsible for the More than a Market initiative. Dr. Winkler holds a PhD in Political Science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese Studies from Vienna University. Before joining the German Chamber, she was Head of Office of the Austrian Academic Exchange Agency (OeAD) in Shanghai. Previously, Dr. Winkler managed international business development projects in China and Eastern Europe for Business Upper Austria, the economic agency of the regional government of Upper Austria. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on EU-China relations, and since 2002, she has been regularly coming back to China for shorter and longer-term stays.
