Liz Mohn represents the fifth generation of the Bertelsmann/Mohn family, owner of the Bertelsmann media group. She is vice-chair of the Bertelsmann Stiftung’s Executive Board and its Board of Trustees. She is also chair of the Bertelsmann Verwaltungsgesellschaft Executive Board and a member of the Supervisory Board at Bertelsmann SE. She serves as president of the German Stroke Foundation, an organization she founded, and chairs the board of the Liz Mohn Foundation for Culture and Music. She also chairs the Board of Trustees of the Association of German Music Schools.
Ms. Bettina Schön-Behanzin is the Chairwoman of the German Chamber of China - Shanghai and the Regional Representative Asia of the Freudenberg Group. She entered Freudenberg Group in October 2012 and leads the Freudenberg Corporate Centre Asia, based in Shanghai, PR China.
Bettina Schoen-Behanzin has 20 years of working experience in Asia leading operational business as well acting in corporate functions. From May 2001 to April 2008 she served as the Board Member of the German Chamber Shanghai, being Vice President from July 2005. Starting in March 2007 she implemented in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) in Shanghai the “Vocational Education System” for skilled workers and was a member of the “China Education Board”.
As of February 2015, Ms. Pohl officially represents the interests of Germany's industry and commerce in the Greater Shanghai region. As a long-standing member of the AHK family, Ms. Pohl brings a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills to the Shanghai Chamber. Before coming to Shanghai, Ms. Pohl spent 15 years in several positions at the German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest in Chicago, most recently acting as the President & CEO from 2006 - 2015. Before moving to the US, she worked for 8 years in the hospitality industry in Munich, Germany.

In addition, she initiated and has been leading the Social Inclusion Academy [SIA] - a full 3 months training program for the certification of qualified Job Coaches who will lead the social integration of challenged individuals into china’s work force. Formerly, Marina coordinated a unique integration program for young adults with intellectual disabilities, later on, founded and managed a Language training center for children with learning disabilities.

Dr. Winkler joined the German Chamber in 2016 and worked initially as project manager Social Responsibility and was responsible for the More than a Market initiative. On 17th October 2016, Dr. Sigrid Winkler (温哥乐) was appointed executive chamber manager at the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai. Dr. Winkler holds a PhD in political science from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and a bachelor’s degree in Chinese studies from Vienna University. Before joining the Chamber, she was head of office of the Austrian Academic Exchange Agency OeAD in Shanghai. Previously, Dr. Winkler managed international business development projects in China and Eastern Europe for Business Upper Austria, the economic agency of the regional government of Upper Austria. She has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on EU-China relations, and since 2002, she has been regularly coming back to China for shorter and longer-term stays.
Before joining the foundation, Mr. Bartsch spent more than a decade in China working as an East Asia
Correspondent for major German media, working as a journalist for German business weekly “Wirtschaftswoche,” daily newspapers “Neue Zuercher Zeitung” and “Berliner Zeitung,” and the business journal “brand ein” reporting about political, social, economic and cultural issues in China, Japan, South and North Korea as well as other countries in East Asia. In 2013, Bernhard Bartsch joined Bertelsmann Stiftung’s Asia team where he continues to wrap his brain around the political, economic and social developments in Asia and their impact on Germany and Europe.
Professor Xuanwei Cao has been active at the International Business School in Suzhou since 2008. He is also the head of the doctrine of the principles for Responsible Management (PRME) of his university. He launched an annual forum on the subject of “Sustainable Management”. He became a member of the “More than a Market " awards jury in 2018.
Zoye Chen is Consultant at Systain and operating in the China team. She is a master graduate in corporate responsibility and sustainable development and an expert in working conditions and human rights as well as environmental protection in production facilities. Her experiences cover supply chain risk management refering to social compliance, product quality control, environmental protection. She is very experienced in project management and operation management as well as various capacity development and training schemes. Ida Cheng is the Junior Project Manager for Special Projects at German Chamber of Commerce | Shanghai. Her work consists in social events and special event projects of the Chamber. She holds a Dual Bachelor’s Degree in Business German and Tourism Management in Beijing and Germany.
Ms. Celina Chew has been the President of Bayer Greater China Group and Chairman of Bayer (China) Limited since 2014. Ms. Chew joined the Bayer Greater China Legal Department in 1997 and assumed the position of Head of Legal for Bayer in Greater China in 1998 and later as the Country Group Head for Bayer Group in the North ASEAN Region and Managing Director at Bayer Thai Co. Ltd. in 2011.
Prior to her assignment at Bayer, she spent 8 years working as a lawyer at international law firms. Ms. Chew holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honors) degree from the University of Western Australia and a Masters of Laws (Distinction) degree from the University of Hong Kong.
Wednesday Cui is Consultant at Systain and operating in the China team. With a background in environmental design and engineering, she is an expert in working conditions and human rights as well as environmental protection in production facilities. She is an expert at labor and EHS Legal requirements, proficient in various audit schemes and experienced in waste treatment facility design and chemical management. At Systain she consults and trains companies in China and abroad in all relevant sustainability issues.
Stefan Ahrens is the Founder of Vega Sports Management, which is building and managing football academies for trainers and children across China. Prior to this, he was Founder of Cawela International Shanghai, an international trading company. Stefan Ahrens has been very active in the sports industry, including charity work with football institutions for children and leading management tasks.
Julia Güsten is a Managing Partner of Sharehouse (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., a platform for SME to enter the Chinese market. Before starting her own company in 2013, she worked 17 years for the German state of Baden-Württemberg as their China representative in Nanjing. She is a founding member of the Pfrang Association, a nonprofit charity organization that provides funds to underprivileged children in Jiangsu and Anhui Provinces to attain an education. She is also the Chair of the Board of Nanjing International School.
Hubertus Drinkuth is Managing Director at Systain, a worldwide operating consulting company for sustainability in supply chains. He is located in the Systain headquarter in Hamburg Germany and has a background in Management Consulting and strategy development. He manages Systain Consulting and develops sustainability initiatives for its clients across various business sectors. One of these initiatives is the factory training programme for the German Business Initiative for Sustainable Value Chains by econsense and DEG.
Dr. Fang Jin is Senior Research Fellow at the Development Research Center (DRC) and Deputy Secretary General of the China Development Research Foundation (CDRF). His research is focused on medium to long term challenges facing China’s economic and social development. He co-authored the book “A Trap or A Wall: The Real Challenges and Strategies Facing Chinese Economy”, which won the 2013 Sun Yefang Economic Prize, the highest honor for excellence in economic research in China. He holds a doctoral degree from the School of Economics, Peking University, a master degree and a bachelor degree of Economics from Macquarie University in Australia.

Lin, Song is General Manager of Fiducia Management Consultants Shanghai. He helps to shape the core values, culture, and strategy of the team. This forms the basis for his commitment to the development of Fiducia’s eight-year “Fidu-Share” CSR initiative in China. Song is able to combine his personal interest in social causes with fundraising activities through Fiducia and encourages the team to give back to those in need. William Lu, is currently a partner of a PRC law firm and board chairman of Legal Center for NGO (ForNGO). He has been practicing as a professional lawyer since 2002 and had worked for Mayer Brown JSM, Shanghai office for 12 year since 2004. William is a lawyer in non-profits, charities, FDI, M&A and real estate laws. William has had 15 years of experience working as a volunteer and NGO leader since 2003. In 2012, he established ForNGO, as a founder, a legal center that runs capacity building seminars for NGOs and conducts academic researches on NGO laws in China.
May has held a variety of senior positions as an executive on Wall Street, as an entrepreneur and as a leader and innovator in the higher-education sector. She has 25+ years of experience leading and advising corporations and educational institutions on expansion into China across a wide-range of issues including regulatory landscape, negotiating strategies, cross-cultural communication, market-entry, joint-venture structures and strategy, and talent management matters. She most recently led a groundbreaking effort to establish the first undergraduate U.S. degree-granting campus in China. Her experience enables her to bring new perspectives including bi-cultural views cultivated throughout years of building deep relationships in the U.S. and China. May has a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from NYU School of Law. In 2014, she joined ShanghaiTech University as Dean of School of Entrepreneurship and Management.
Pei Pei has been the Executive Assistant to Management at German Industry & Commerce Greater
China | Shanghai since March 2018. Before joining the GIC Shanghai, Ms. Pei spent more than a decade in Germany studying and working as a project coordinator for R&D and business strategic deployment projects for German, American, Italian and Chinese companies. Her strength is business awareness, which enables her to permanently streamline infrastructure and applications, and implement effective business processes at local and global levels. Ms. Pei holds a Master of Arts in German as a Foreign and Second Language from University of Kassel and a degree in IT business administration from University of Hagen.
Rui Wang ist a certified DET Facilitator and holds a MBA in Management from the IMHI-ESSEC Business School in Paris, France. She is the Author of Internet Philanthropy in China and works as a Philanthropy & Civil Society Consultant at UNDP.
He holds a Bachelor Degree in Law Studies (Erfurt, Germany), a Diploma in International Studies from John Hopkins University Bologna Center and a M.A. in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna/ University of Vienna. Prior to his
engagement with KAS he was Head of Organizational unit political and governmental at Südwestmetall, the Association of the Metal and Electrical Industry Baden-Württemberg. From 2005-2007 he was advisor at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia and fulltime lecturer at Universitas Pelita Harapan, Jakarta, Indonesia. He is married and has three children.
Wu, Qian is HR Director Asia at Freudenberg Regional Corporate Center Asia. She was educated both in China and in Germany with focus on Human Resources. For the most part of her 14 years work experience she has been dealing with HR responsibilities in China and other Asian countries. At the same time, she took a personal focus on social responsibility. In line with values laid out in the guiding principles of Freudenberg, she initiated and led a Summer Camp teaching program in a rebuilt Sichuan school after the 5.12.2008 Sichuan Earthquake. During the years of growing experience in both HR and social responsibility, she found out how long lasting social responsibility projects have increased the recognition, sense of belonging and employee engagement to the company.
Mr. Oliver Yang is Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation. He is in charge of strategy development, policy planning, external communication and advocacy. Mr. Yang also leads the collaboration between multinationals and SSCLF on CSR and sustainable development agenda. He works closely with the central and local government, Chinese think-tanks, NGOs and companies to smooth communication channels and cement the relations between government authorities and business community through strategic and institutional approach. Mr. Yang is a member of both U.S. China Young Leaders Forum and Asia-Europe Young Leaders Forum.
Richard Zhang is CEO of Kern-Liebers China Business Group, the first German-invested enterprise in Taicang. In 1995, he joined Kern-Liebers as General Manager, and developed the company from 7 to presently more than 1000 employees. Mr. Zhang currently also serves as Member of the Board of the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and as Chairman of Taicang European Investment Enterprises Association (Taicang Roundtable, TRT). In his role for TRT, he is also involved in supporting the Sino-German Inclusion Factory Taicang. Furthermore, in 2001, under his guidance, Kern-Liebers established together with other German companies and the support of the AHK the Taicang German Technician Training Center, Taicang’s first German dual-system vocational training center. Richard Zhang also acts as Chairman of its Board. Mr Zhang is a graduate from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
