[Hybrid] Digital Chinese RMB (E-CNY)

Dear Members and Friends of SwissCham,

We would love to invite you to this hybrid event on "Digital Chinese RMB (E-CNY)" with Ilaf Elard, Assistant Professor of Practice in Economics and Core Faculty Member at the Center for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) at NYU Shanghai, on Wednesday, December 7 at 6:30 pm.

In this event, Prof Ilaf Elard covers the digital RMB, what it is and how it works. The RMB is already digital and many people in China predominantly use digital mobile payments such as WeChat and Alipay. So, what exactly is the financial innovation of the digital RMB compared with WeChat/Alipay?

How can you start using the E-CNY? What is the new technology behind the E-CNY? What is the future of the E-CNY, what other designs are possible? Does it use blockchain technology? What is the difference between the digital RMB and cryptocurrencies? What are the EU and the US doing with their digital Euro and digital Dollar?

At the end of the event, there will be a Q&A with Professor Elard. There will be a networking event with drinks and finger food after the seminar.
