Circular economy and remanufacturing are no longer mere concepts; they are systematically practiced by several businesses today. The next step towards sustainable production and a crucial element of the circular economy is the broad-scale integration of remanufacturing processes into manufacturing companies to utilize resources more efficiently. Germany and Baden-Württemberg have firmly anchored the direction towards sustainable production in its sustainability strategy for industry and businesses. Many approaches in this field are innovative, leading to significant research needs.
如今，循环经济和再制造已不再只是单纯的概念，许多企业已经有着系统的实践。实现可持续生产的下一步，也是循环经济的一个重要因素，就是在制造企业中广泛采用再制造工艺，以更有效地利用资源。德国和巴登-符腾堡州在其工业和商业的可持续发展战略中坚定了可持续生产的方向。在这一领域，涌现了众多创新方法，也为进一步的研究需求提供方向。
Transitioning to sustainable economics is not a journey any country can embark on alone. A vital and necessary partner for is and has always been China. For Baden-Württemberg, the province of Jiangsu is of particular interest as a high-tech location, with joint projects having been implemented since 1994 . The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has been on-site since 2008, conducting research with the Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute (GAMI) in the field of production engineering. Over the past 15 years, GAMI has implemented various successful research collaborations. Significant milestones were the 2015 and 2018 openings of the Industry 4.0 Demonstration and Innovation Center and the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Factory in Suzhou, research platforms for Sino-German projects, particularly in the fields of Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence.
向可持续经济转型，并非一国之力可为，中国始终是一个不可或缺的重要伙伴。对巴登-符腾堡州来说，江苏省作为高科技重地尤为重要，自1994年以来，双方一直在开展合作项目。卡尔斯鲁厄理工学院自2008年起便设立了常驻中国机构，即全球先进制造研究所（Global Advanced Manufacturing Institute，简称GAMI），专注于生产工程领域的前沿研究。在过去的 15 年中，GAMI 成功开展了多项研究合作，其中具有重要里程碑意义的是，2015 年和 2018 年分别在苏州开设了工业 4.0 技术展示创新中心和人工智能创新工场，这是中德项目的研究平台，尤其是在工业 4.0 和人工智能领域。
KIT is on the verge of making a significant stride towards intelligent and sustainable manufacturing. With our Remanufacturing Technology Innovation Center, we intend to address the challenges and research needs in the circular economy and remanufacturing specifically, explore global application areas, and incorporate this knowledge into the education of professionals. The inauguration ceremony will be held on October 17, 2023, in Suzhou, coinciding with GAMI's celebrations marking its 15-year presence in production engineering in China. Your attendance would not only be an honor for us but would also underline the immense technical and political relevance of our initiative. It would provide the Remanufacturing Technology Innovation Center with the necessary platform to deeply embed the theme of sustainability in Jiangsu.
