In September 2005, the "MTM China Office" was established through the collaboration of the International MTM Directorate (IMD), the German MTM Association, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Shanghai (AHK), and the Shanghai Branch of German Industry and Commerce Technology Consulting Co., Ltd. (GIC). In June 2009, MTM (Shanghai) Management Consulting Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MTM Shanghai") was founded.
MTM Shanghai is a member of the One-MTM Network Partner and serves as the sole authorized certification body for the MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. in China. The company is wholly funded by MTM SOLUTIONS GmbH, a subsidiary of MTM ASSOCIATION e. V. (MTMA).
