Enactus is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. The program operates globally in 36 countries through partnerships with 440 companies and 1,750 universities. In China, Enactus established its Social Innovation Program in 2002. After 14 years of operation, and with the support and partnership of over 60 corporations, Enactus China now has 277 universities from 25 provinces or municipalities (including Hong Kong and Macau) participating in the program. These university teams implemented 1,141 social innovation projects in the academic year of 2015-2016, mainly related to the topics of environmental sustainability, rural development, women economic empowerment, cultural heritage, energy and water conservancy, and entrepreneurship.
