Autism is a pervasive mental disease of developmental disorder in children. To date, the medical community still has no effective medical treatment for autism. As early as 2010, the number of people with autism worldwide reached 67 million (the estimated number in China was more than 10 million), which became a recognized major public health problem and a heavy social burden in the world. According to statistics from the census in many countries, the incidence of autism in newborns has been increasing rapidly year by year, from less than 1 in 10,000 in the early 1990s to more than 1 in 100 today. Autism is no longer a rare disease that affects only a small group of people, it is related to the future of mankind.
The seriousness of autism has also attracted great attention from governments around the world. Every year, Secretary-general of the United Nations and many national political leaders will deliver keynote speeches during the World Autism Awareness Day, calling on the public to pay attention to the autism community. As a global enterprise, Orange Group has been focusing on autism since the 1980s, and established a foundation in 1987 to help people with autism and their families. Over the past 30 years, the foundation has been actively involved in the natural extension of the company's mission: "Helping everyone communicate better". Beijing Association of Rehabilitation Children with Autism was founded in December 1993, and it is a non-governmental organization and registered under the supervision of Beijing Social Organization Administration Office. The mission of the BARCA is to provide services and support for children and families who struggle with autism. In order to call for more enterprises to pay attention to children with autism and promote exchanges and learning between existing participating institutions, Orange Group and Beijing Association of Rehabilitation Children with Autism are scheduled to organize the First Corporate Social Responsibility and Autism Forum in Beijing on September 19th, 2019.
In this forum, we will invite domestic and international experts in the field of autism to share the current status of autism at home and abroad, and the latest medical research results and clinical trials in autism. At the same time, participants will conduct in-depth discussions on the practical problems to be solved urgently in the autism community. Through this forum, we aim to establish a platform for dialogue and exchanges, invite enterprises, experts and scholars, professionals from different fields, volunteers as well as parents of patients with autism to come together to participate, learn, discuss and collaborate, build the social support system, and call on the whole society to pay attention to, understand, accept and integrate people with autism, so as to improve the living conditions of people with autism and their families.
