The Convention will have the Shanghai Municipal Government to introduce Shanghai's overall development situation and latest policies, including those of Pudong New Area, Free Trade Zone Lin'gang New Area, Zhangjiang High-tech Demonstration Zone, and Hongqiao Business District. Participants will be briefed on the latest development opportunities in Shanghai.

The Convention garner resources from the whole city, sort out the needs of enterprises, arrange promotion and match-making events, as well as provide other services, so that foreign companies, state-owned enterprises, private enterprises and professional investment institutions can engage with each other more to gain a deeper understanding, leading to more opportunities for economic cooperation and trade.

The Convention will have investment side exhibitions to promote the opportunities for economic cooperation and trade in Shanghai's districts and development parks, to demonstrate the Shanghai's achievements in establishing itself as an international hub for economy, finance, trade, shipping as well as science and innovation, and to highlight Shanghai's characters of being open, innovative and inclusive.
