The GCC • Shanghai is a membership organization for German companies and individuals actively engaged in the business community in Shanghai as well as the neighbouring provinces Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui. It is officially registrated in Beijing and consists of three equal regional chambers in Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. Each chamber has its own localized setup to fulfill the requests of its members. The chambers are financed exclusively through
membership fees and corporate sponsorship and receive no financial support from Germany. With more than 1,300 member companies, the German Chamber in Shanghai is one of the largest foreign Chambers in the country. It supports services to German companies in the development of their business and connects the business community through the monthly chamber meetings, through a variety of workshops on current and industry related issues as
well as through regular social events.

From June 16-18, "Xplore China" Delegations will visit Qingdao with a focus on the high-end manufacturing industry. We sincerely invite industry-related member companies and interested friends to join our high-level delegation.

Qingdao is located at the southeastern tip of the Shandong Peninsula. With a population of about 10 million, and a GDP of 1.24 trillion Yuan in 2020, the city has been ranking third in northern China for years. Qingdao Port ranks sixth in the world in terms of throughput and includes modern marine industry development pioneer zones. Qingdao is a well-known manufacturing hub in China and an important base for household appliances, high-speed rail, automobile, machinery, shipbuilding, marine economy, etc. The goal is to further develop into a high-end advanced manufacturing production base, a new energy vehicle production base, and the world's industrial internet capital by 2035.

Qingdao and Germany maintain close economic ties and trade exchange, among those companies are global players and well-known medium-sized enterprises. The old town with its unique German charm and Qingdao Beer Museum showcases the historical relationship between Qingdao and Germany.

About "Xplore China" 

 

"Xplore China" brings you upcoming regions and cities (2nd/3rd tier) in China with development potential. AHK China organizes short-term delegation visits for 2-3 days. The trips will focus on specific industries and help companies to better understand the regional development, potential to participate in local projects, and the latest needs and opportunities. "Xplore China" will support you to establish contacts with local governments and enterprises through relevant high-level government meetings, matchmaking, factory visits, local project visits, investment area inspections, and networking events.
