After a successful premiere in 2019, the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and the Wuxi International Chamber are jointly organizing the Wuxi Interchamber Networking Dinner for its second year - this time with the additional support of Advantage Austria, DUSA European Business Association Suzhou and the Swiss Chinese Chamber of Commerce, thus rebranding the event Wuxi DACH Interchamber Networking Dinner 2020.
The acronym DACH represents Germany (D), Austria (A) and Switzerland (CH) and indicates that this Interchamber Networking Dinner brings together the German-speaking business community in Wuxi and the surrounding area for an inspiring evening of professional networking and exchange. Thanks to the additional support of the China Chamber of International Commerce Wuxi, we are delighted to be joined by the Chinese business community as well.
Mr. Clas Neumann, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the German German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and Senior Vice President at SAP China, and Dr. Christine Althauser, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany, will start the evening by giving Opening Remarks and respectively the Welcome Remarks.
The event's keynote speech will be held by The Economist Corporate Network's Director Shanghai, Ms. Mary Boyd, on China's Business Outlook: A Full or Partial Recovery?
Observing that China's manufacturers are back in operation and that even cautious consumers now seem more confident, Ms. Boyd asks: Is China's recovery sustainable, and how will this affect global markets?
Having spent a long period of her career in Asia, Ms. Boyd is well known for her deep insights into the region. She uses the detailed databases of the Economist's research team to support her analysis and assessment of the markets in a comprehensive, yet refreshing way.

Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the German Chamber of Commerce in China | Shanghai and Senior Vice President, Head of Global SAP Labs Network of SAP SEClas Neumann is Global Head of the SAP Labs Network since 2009, and has been leading the Fast Growth Market Strategy team since 2013. In his role as Labs Head, Neumann acts as the central coordinator of all network activities. In his role as Head Fast Growth Market Strategy he leads the investments for SAP’s growth markets in Africa, China, Middle-East and Russia. Neumann has co-authored different books & article son innovation in emerging markets and been recognized through different awards for his engagement in society and business.

Dr. Christine Althauser
Consul General of the Federal Republic of GermanyIn August 2017, Dr Althauser was appointed Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Shanghai. She grew up in Baden-Württemberg in Germany. After studying Political Science, Slavic Languages and Literature and Sinology in Heidelberg, Taiwan, Moscow and Luxembourg, she joined the Federal Foreign Office in 1985. She was posted to the German Embassy in Beijing from 1987 to 1990. From 1990 until 1993, she worked at the USSR/Russia desk at Federal Foreign Office headquarters in Bonn. She was subsequently posted to the German Embassies in The Hague and in Moscow. She has been seconded to the Policy Planning Staff at the Federal Ministry of Defence in Berlin, has been posted to the Permanent Representations of the Federal Republic of Germany to the European Union in Brussels and to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, and has served as Head of the Crisis Prevention Division at the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin. Ms Althauser received her doctoral degree from Heidelberg University and has lectured in Political Science at Freiburg University while working at the Federal Foreign Office’s Economic Affairs Directorate-General. Prior to her assignment in Shanghai, Dr Althauser was Head of the Press Section at the German Embassy in Moscow and also served as Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Skopje (Macedonia) for three years.
