Webinar Description

China has emerged as a major global power in the 21st century. As Sino-German relations continue to evolve, the future of German companies in China increasingly relies on their involvement in Chinese society.

It is clear by now that social engagement fosters the relationship between business and society, creating value for both. The continuing success of German companies in China depends on a new perception of the business environment here: namely, that China is more than just a market.

With this mission statement in mind, the More than a Market initiative was launched in 2015. The goal was simple: Existing social engagement efforts by the German business community would be bundled and honored, catalyzing joint action for an increased impact and, as a result, increasing CSR projects' visibility among Chinese stakeholders.

The recent novel Coronavirus outbreak has been affecting companies across all industries, making CSR efforts more important than ever. A recent publication by McKinsey went as far as to suggest we're on the cusp of the "next normal," - a time in which our era will be redefined by before and after the crisis.

In this webinar, the German Chamber of Commerce in China invites three speakers from large German companies to share their experiences on topics such as:

·        What is the CSR strategy for German companies operating in China?

·        How does success look like for German companies amid COVID-19? What challenges do they have to face and what will happen in the "next normal"?

·        What can companies do to engage employees in CSR with regards to COVID-19?

·        How can departments better communicate with each other for an increased impact?

We are calling all enterprises that are actively engaged with CSR initiatives to join the webinar, as well as all companies who are looking for inspiration and want to exchange experiences during these times.
