Understanding the “New Quality Productive Forces”

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming online event on August 8, where we will be discussing China's concept of "New Quality Productive Forces." This strategic initiative, introduced in 2023 by President Xi Jinping, aims to drive the country's high-quality development by focusing on advanced, high-tech, and high-efficiency productivity.

This initiative represents a significant shift from traditional economic growth models towards an innovation-centric approach. China did not implement a fiscal stimulus after the end of COVID-19, despite many people believing it would have been necessary to get the economy up and running again. Instead they came up with the new strategy of "New Quality Productive Forces," which focuses on sustainable, high-tech, and efficient productivity, aiming for long-term economic resilience and innovation rather than short-term boosts. Will that be an easy shift? Probably not. But it seems to be highly relevant for China.

We believe this initiative is the next big strategic move after the "Made in China 2025" strategy and will have a significant impact on business in China and with China.
