Kayshell Jennings is a 23-year-old Guyanaese national currently studying Clinical Medicine at the Peking University Health Science Center. Since coming to Beijing she has had an avid interest in exploring her African heritage and is currently the Vice President of the Peking University Africa Student Association. Additionally, Kayshell is a part-time host and model and has recently been on an exciting East Africa Adventure which she said was a time for her to do much learning and unlearning of the African continent.

Mikka Kabugo was born and raised in Uganda and moved to China to pursue a medical degree. He is currently enrolled at the Peking University Health Science Center. Mikka's keen interest in fine art, design, and culture gives him an edge with expression as both an entrepreneur and a creative. He regularly participates in various charity events, fundraisers, live painting sessions, and exhibitions. Mikka possesses great leadership and administrative skills. As a former President of the Peking University African Students’ Association (PUASA), he demonstrated his strong skillset in team building, management of work flow, human resource management, streamlining of financial records and sensitivity to diversity and multiculturalism.

Lily Kang was born and raised in Harbin, China. During and after her undergraduate career at the University of Notre Dame in the United States, she had opportunities to volunteer and conduct research in Uganda, Ethiopia, and Kenya. As a member of World Economic Forum's Global Shapers community, she is currently leading an initiative that aims to build and deepen interpersonal relationships between people of different cultures, with a specific focus on relationships between Chinese and Africans.

Valeryia was born and raised in Rogachev, Belarus. She then moved to the capital of the country, Minsk, where she received Bachelor degree in simultaneous interpretation. Currently, Valeryia is pursuing Master's degree in China Studies at the Yenching Academy of PKU, where she is conducting research on the work of African "cultural entrepreneurs" and the representation and commodification of "African culture" in China.

Valeryia cherishes creative expression and imagination. She plays the piano and dances and teaches African dance. Another interest of hers that has helped her to learn more about the world is British Parliamentary debate. After 6 years of competitive debating, Valeryia is now working as a debate instructor.

Valeryia's dream to travel to an African country came true this January when she went to Uganda and Rwanda to visit friends she made in China. She is now eager to encourage everyone else to start planning their Africa trip as well!
