For our second online event on Sunday 21 June, we're pleased to invite Dexter Roberts, who lived in Beijing for more than two decades as a reporter on China's economics, business and politics for Bloomberg Businessweek.
Dexter's debut book The Myth of Chinese Capitalism has been described as a ``sophisticated and readable take of China's triumphs and crises''. It's a deeply reported assessment of China's prospects from the perspective of its hundreds of millions of internal migrants and factory workers.
What really makes this ascending economy tick, and what's holding it back? Dexter will talk us through that topic. He can also offer some reflections on current events, on his long service as a China-roaming reporter, and on making the switch from journalism to writing a book.
Dexter will join us from home in his native Montana.
This event is FREE and for members only*
Time: 10am, Sunday 21 June
