Event Summary

Design has the power to create a world that enhances our life experiences, says Avril Accolla.

How does design drive social innovation?

Emerging from some of the challenges experienced internationally in the last two decades is a possible new path that could flourish in China.

On Friday she will give us a simple glimpse into a quite personal journey for sustainable development.

She believes social innovation to be excellence and revenue.

Join us this Friday, March 30, as we invite Avril Accolla, professor at Tongji University and Italian Design Innovation design director, to discuss her opinion on the meaning of social innovation, her experiences designing for it, and her ideas on its use for a flourishing future.

Avril's vision for design driven social innovation is to help develop satisfactory and sustainable development for everyone. She thinks this will contribute to the creation of thriving ethical businesses through both social and environmental sustainability where tradition, modernity and innovation meet.

Fresh Start Rotary Club of Shanghai is a member club of a global network of 1.2 million who envision a world where people unite to create lasting change. We support social enterprise and help empower entrepreneurs with a social purpose.

We warmly welcome all to attend, listen, and ask questions.
