No matter how many "lessons" we have learned during the pandemic or how many times we have told ourselves to keep calm and stay strong, stress and struggles seem unavoidable. We may have tried strategies to "fix" and "resolve," but they don't always work in the way we expect. We may feel frustrated and helpless; we may isolate ourselves; we may even suppress our needs or pain or let time pass. However, feeling anxious, stressed, and overwhelmed are normal responses to abnormal situations. Nothing is wrong with making yourself feel better from all the uncertainty and loss. We want to offer you resources, support, and connection so that you don't feel like you're facing these difficulties and tough times on your own. We also want to create a space for you to "hold hands" with others who share similar experiences. We will walk through the "storm" together, learning about ourselves, and each other along the way.

While the pandemic, and its ripple effects, are still impacting our days and lives, CCS is offering this online Psycho-educational Support Group—"Holding Hands" to add more "tools" to your emotional "toolbox." As a group member, you'll learn

  • helpful information about pandemic stress and defense mechanisms,
  • offering you potential resources and strategies for replacing unhelpful habits
  • while cultivating a community support space where everyone is welcome to share their experiences and build meaningful connections.
