"Let us never negotiate out of fear. But let us never fear to negotiate." – John F. Kennedy

Salary negotiation is an essential professional skill – one which will most definitely influence your long-term earning potential. Yet, many of us would still run a mile in the other direction rather than directly discuss an expected salary with recruiters or ask our boss for a pay rise. Indeed, for numerous job-seekers and employees alike, this feels like an uncomfortable, unnerving and confusing experience.

It also remains a grim reality that women are especially daunted by salary negotiations. A well-known study by Linda Babcock demonstrated that a mere 7% of women are willing to negotiate their first salary - a figure which pales in comparison to the 57% of men who do.

Well, enough is enough! It's time to get what you deserve! Beijing Women's Network is teaming up with HR expert, Lin Zhang, to deliver a specialized workshop so that you too can master this critical skill. As a recruiting and HR leader in both China and the US for major companies like Microsoft and Coursera, Lin has successfully negotiated thousands of offers and also coached employees and managers on their negotiation strategies.

Join us for this rare opportunity to work closely with Lin and:

  • Discover a practical framework for offer negotiation
  • Learn the insider view of negotiation from the HR / employer's perspective
  • Practice key negotiation skills

What to bring to the event?

Please bring a pen and some paper. All attendees are also strongly encouraged to reflect on a past or upcoming negotiation scenario. During the workshop, the participants can use these experiences for their own practice.
