Program Introduction

CMC Day 1 (September 9, 2023) : Nonviolent Communication

More than fifty years ago, American psychologist, Marshall B. Rosenberg, developed a process which he called 'Nonviolent Communication', now also referred to as 'Compassionate Communication'. It's a framework for listening to others empathically and expressing ourselves without judgment, blame, or criticism, especially in emotionally charged situations. Compassionate Communication in Coaching can be a very valuable, supportive tool, and skillset. In many coaching engagements, a client's issue is about relationships, influencing others, communicating more effectively, dealing with challenging personalities, managing overwhelming emotions, or resolving internal or external conflicts successfully. Compassionate Communication can help clients see areas where destructive human interactions create challenges. It's also an effective way to provide deep empathy and build the coaching relationship, a fundamental skill to becoming an exceptional coach.

In this 1-day course, participants will:

  • learn a four-step process and how to apply it,
  • deepen listening and empathy skills,
  • increase their self-awareness regarding feelings and needs,
  • learn how to stay connected in emotionally challenging moments,
  • learn how to help the person being coached identify new perspectives regarding their issues.

CMC Day 2 (September 10, 2023) : Strengths-based Coaching

In this 1-day course, coaches learn to identify and develop a Strengths-based approach in coaching. The practice aims to enhance their coaching capabilities by learning to focus on the strengths of the person being coached throughout the engagement.

Strengths-based Coaching is a Competencies Master Class (CMC) with a highly interactive course that gives coaches the necessary tools to create a strong, positive coaching culture in service of the person they coach and clients' organisations. By the coach focusing on their counterparts' strengths, the person being coached begins to transform and grow.

A Strengths-based approach enables coaches to maintain an optimistic and healthy perspective benefitting their counterparts going through challenging times. It also helps coaches to manage and sustain their own energy for optimal performance and creativity.
