[Fully Booked] GCC Business Delegation to Greater Bay Area: Zhongshan

On 18th June, the German Chamber of Commerce, South & Southwest in co-operation with the German Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong, will lead the 5th business delegation to the Greater Bay Area - Zhongshan. Zhongshan is located on the west bank of the Pearl River estuary in the central-southern part of the Pearl River Delta region.

ThyssenKrupp set foot in Zhongshan back in 1995. At this special visit, Thyssenkrupp is pleased to present an introduction to their factories, which will show you how the Escalator and Elevator manufacturing centers integrate engineering strength, efficient operation, organized management and customer-centric value into every piece of equipment delivered to different parts of the Asia Pacific region.

Zhongshan elevator factory, completed with a test tower was officially opened in March 2018, forming one of Thyssenkrupp Elevator's main production bases in the Asia Pacific region. The test tower is 248m tall, built with 13 shafts and an Active Mass Damper system for R&D. The total investment for the whole plant is about US$128 million / 103 million Euros.

The Zhongshan escalator manufacturing centre is Thyssenkrupp Elevator's largest and only escalator manufacturing centre outside Europe (the other two are in Germany and Spain). The centre has eight production lines and accounting for nearly 70% of their total capacity of escalator production globally.
