Event Summary

Fresh Start member James Grayland and Wan Ling Tea House Shanghai welcomes all Fresh Start members and Rotarian friends to their tea house and tea garden in Xuhui.

Tea has been an important part of Chinese culture for centuries. Tea is known for its calming properties and ability to help focus. Tea has been enjoyed by artists, writers, monks and sages to help elevate and stimulate, whilst calming. In this day and age, the fast paced life of Shanghai means it is often difficult to find time to enjoy peace and quiet. Wan Ling will introduce you to tea meditation. Through tea, people find a way to switch off from the constant, always-on modern day lifestyle and focus on the moment. Tea meditation will be followed by a session of Shambala, lead by former club president James F.

Wan Ling Tea House is pleased to welcome Fresh Start members and prospective members to an afternoon of fellowship. We hope this is a great opportunity to share some time together in quiet surroundings, accompanied by a chosen selection of Chinese teas.

Please confirm your interest as soon as possible so that we are able to optimize the session based on the number of people interested in attending.

As part of Fresh Start's support of the Qinghai Tree Planting project, Wan Ling Tea House will donate 30% of loose leaf teas and tea wares sold on the day and there will be a raffle (50RMB per ticket) with a prize being donated by Wan Ling Tea House.

Fresh Start Rotary Club of Shanghai is a member club of a global network of 1.2 million who envision a world where people unite to create lasting change. We support social enterprise and help empower entrepreneurs with a social purpose.

Founded in 2004 by Fujian native, Wan Ling, Wan Ling Tea House has grown from a small tea shop in the old antiques market on Beijing Road, to a well-known tea company with customers from over 50 countries worldwide and operations on three continents. We are pleased to welcome tea friends from around the world to our tea house. We travel extensively across China sourcing our teas direct and ensuring that we understand the journey the tea has taken from field to cup, and understanding the journeys of the passionate tea farmers and tea people who make this simple leaf something much more.
