Raising awareness of key issues is an important task in any society. The grassroots organization我们与平权"We and Equality" seeks to do this for the ideas of gender equality in China.

How does the organization create attention towards gender inequality? How can people be free to choose their way in life regardless of gender?

Join us this Friday, June 21, as we invite Joy Lin, founder of 我们与平权"We and Equality" to discuss her efforts raising awareness of gender inequality in China and empowering both Chinese women and men to unite together equally.

我们与平权"We and Equality" releases original feminism related articles every week through their WeChat subscription account, organizes offline discussions, hosts online reading groups and maintains WeChat groups to create a positive environment for in-depth discussions on challenging gender issues that enlarge and empower the community. As of June 19th, "We and Equality" has hosted 53 events in Shanghai.

"We and Equality" recently finished an interview project and report inspired by the Chinese MeToo movement, in which they interviewed victims of sexual harassment, perpetrators of it, opinion leaders and activists in the gender field. They interviewed more than 30 people including survivors of sexual harassment, sexual harassers, opinion leaders and activists in gender field.
