Bun (Bao Zhi), is a famous and versatile food in China. It can be eaten as breakfast, lunch, snacks or even dinner. There are many varieties of Bun. Two of the very popular ones in Shanghai are Pan Fried Bun( San Jian Bao) and Steam Bun (Zheng Bao Zhi).


Pan Fried Buns are usually filled with pork fillings and as the name implies, it is cooked by pan frying method. Steam Buns are usually more versatile, can have vegetable fillings or mixed together with meat, and it is cooked by steaming method. In this class, you will learn how to make the dough, the fillings, how to make a bun and learn how to cook them by using two different methods. You will receive a recipe leaflet in English and Chinese character names for each ingredient.
