Dear VDMA member,
We are pleased to invite you to an upcoming online event focusing on China's recent export controls. While China's recent restrictions on rare earth exports have attracted significant attention and exposed critical supply chain vulnerabilities, they represent only one aspect of the country's broader export control strategy. As China sharpens its export control regime amid rising techno-nationalism and intensifying global power rivalries, German industry faces mounting risks to supply chain stability. The China-focused consultancy Sinolytics has recently published a paper analyzing the overall direction of China's export control policy, with particular attention to recent developments in the rare earth sector.
We have invited the authors of the study to unpack the geopolitical context, outline China's legal framework, and assess the implications for key sectors. Join us to learn how export controls are being wielded as geopolitical instruments, what this means for the German machinery industry, and what the future of Chinese export controls may hold. A live Q&A session will provide an opportunity to address sector-specific concerns and ask follow-up questions.
