The 798 is now one of the most popular cultural spots in Beijing, but 20 years ago when Nataline arrived, it was just beginning its development into the leading international contemporary art hub it is today. The Beijing Women's Network is pleased to present Nataline Colonnello, who will share a glimpse on the fast-changing contemporary art scene in China through the insider's perspective and her ever-evolving career as a scholar, gallerist, museum director and festival organizer.
Nataline Colonnello is a sinologist and contemporary art specialist. Living in China since 2001, she has been a part of Chinese art circles for well over a decade, leading major galleries like Galerie Urs Meile and Ink Studio. As an art critic, her essays and interviews have appeared in numerous international publications, exhibition catalogues, and monographs. Until 2018, she has served as the director of the Three Shadows Photography Art Centre in Beijing, the leading private institution in China dedicated solely to photography. She is currently based in Beijing, where she works as the Exhibition Director of the Gallery Weekend Beijing.
