Wednesday 24th March
Welcome to join an FCC midweek mixer.
Drinks, mingling and a guest speaker talking about Beijing Graffiti.
British writer and former graffiti artist Tom Dartnell explored the capital's street-art scene with Liu Yuan Shengโ, a Beijing photographer in his 60's who has chronicled graffiti's development in the capital.
They produced Beijing Graffiti, a book that also draws on extensive interviews with 25 of the most prolific artists.
Tom will discuss how the art form arrived in Beijing, decades after developing on the sides of New York subway trains, and how Chinese artistic and cultural influences have shaped the local scene. With pictures.
