His Excellency, Mr Graham Fletcher is a senior career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and was most recently First Assistant Secretary, North Asia Division. He has previously served overseas as Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Washington; Deputy Head of Mission, Australian Embassy, Beijing; Counsellor, Australian Embassy, Beijing; and Third Secretary, Australian Embassy, Beijing. He speaks Mandarin.

Mr Fletcher holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney.

Lachlan Crews is a senior career officer of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He took up the position of Minister-Counsellor (Economic) at the Australian Embassy in Beijing in December 2019.
He was appointed Assistant Secretary, Trade and Investment Advocacy Branch, Regional Trade Agreements Division (RTD) in July 2017.
In that role, Lachlan was responsible for advocacy work to raise awareness of Australia’s Free Trade Agreements, and broader trade and investment outreach.
Prior to that appointment, he was Director, Europe Trade and Brexit Unit.
From 2012-2016, he served as Counsellor (Economic) at the Australian Embassy in Beijing.
He was part of the negotiating team working on the China, Japan and Korea FTAs (2008-2011) and served as First Secretary (Economic) at the Australian Embassy in Seoul (2005-2008).
Prior to joining DFAT, Lachlan worked in the international taxation and foreign investment areas of Treasury (1998-2001).
Lachlan holds a degree in Economics and Arts (Chinese) from the University of Queensland, and a Masters Degree (International Relations) from ANU.
He is married with two children.

A Collingwood supporter born and raised in Melbourne, Paul’s first visit to China was on a scholarship to East China Normal University while undertaking a Diploma of Languages (Mandarin) at La Trobe University. Since then, Paul has studied in Dalian, Beijing, and Taipei.

Paul is a Trade and Investment Commissioner at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission’s Beijing Post at the Australian Embassy. Paul manages Austrade’s investment promotion and facilitation work across North China, and manages Austrade’s Shenyang Post. Paul previously worked for the North Asia and Investment section of Austrade in Canberra, the Landing Pad team in Melbourne, and Tourism Programs for the Approved Destination Status scheme – which allows Chinese tourists to travel to Australia in guided groups.

Paul joined Austrade in 2017 from the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development, where he worked on aviation security policy in the Office of Transport Security.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Business and Master of Tourism from La Trobe University in Melbourne, and a Master of Enterprise Management from Renmin University of China
