From 7 to 19 December, representatives of the world's nations will gather in Montreal Canada for the United Nations Biodiversity Conference, also known as COP15. During this session, under the presidency of China, it is expected that negotiations will terminate with the adoption of the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework, which is the nature-equivalent of the Paris agreement on climate change.

Join AustCham China and PwC China on 15 December, from 3:00 to 4:15 pm, as we hold a new ESG Webinar on Aligning Business to Global Biodiversity Framework. It is of absolute importance that companies commit to these nature-oriented targets and this event will discuss how organisations can achieve this.

As immediate actions, companies and financial institutions will need to start by assessing their dependencies and impacts on nature. They will need to understand and manage their nature-related risks and opportunities, setting out targets for reducing their negative impacts on nature. Finally, they will need to provide transparent reporting on all of this to their shareholders and other stakeholders.

In this webinar, attendees will hear from PwC China's Corporate Sustainability Leader Callum Douglas, who will share insights from COP15 where he will be launching a major piece of thought leadership on the topic. Reasons to why the Global Biodiversity Framework matters so much for business will be also shared.

Paul Niven, Alta Genetics international sales Vice President (Agriculture), and Jeff Wang, Marriot Senior Director, Procurement, for Greater China (Hospitality), will complement the approach, sharing the efforts that their industries will have to undergo when aligning to future targets.

The expositions will be followed by an interactive Q&A session, moderated by AustCham's Director Rob Campbell. Learn about what companies will have to do to adapt and the efforts that this important transition will entail.

This event will be held fully online. Members are invited to join free of charge. Non-members are welcome to join as well, purchasing tickets as detailed below.
