As an adult, you likely had some say in the decision to move to China.
Kids though don't always have much of a say in this decision. Some come willingly and even excitedly, while others are a bit more reluctant or resistant. Either way, it sometimes can be quite a challenge for kids to adjust to life here.
This newcomer orientation will help your children start their adventure here on a positive note. Kids will have the opportunity to meet other new kids, share their experiences, learn coping tools and strategies to help with the adjustment, and learn what it means to be a third culture kid.
*Note: This program is designed for children age 7 and up, lunch provided.

Carrie Jones
Carrie Jones is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker from Texas (USA) and Director of Counseling at CCS. She has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Baylor University. In Texas, she worked in a number of settings including a family counseling center, a substance abuse center, and several schools. Since 2010, she has served as the Director of Counseling at Community Center Shanghai. Carrie specializes in working with children and adolescents.
Catherine
Humpherys
Catherine is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who is available to provide professional trainings as well as workshops and classes to schools, workplaces, and other community venues. She has a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University in the United States and has worked as a clinical counselor and presenter for the past 10 years
