Best Practices for Corporate Health
Studies show that stock values for a portfolio of companies that received high score in a corporate health and wellness self-assessment appreciated by 235% compared with S&P 500 Index appreciation of 159% over a 6-year simulation period. What does it mean to us? Robust investment in workplace health and wellbeing appears to be one of multiple practices pursued by high performing, well-managed companies.
Numerous studies link employee health risks and diminished health to higher health care costs, increase absence, and lower on-the-job productivity. There are emerging indications that investment in corporate health and well-being are correlated with financial impact.
Almost everybody has 70% of his health in his own hands. Knowing this, we have to accept that our body does not tell us everything what is going wrong and may lead to sickness. For example we do not notice, if our blood-pressure or cholesterol is rising. We do not realize that factors are building up that can lead to a burnout in the near future. Because of these facts, it is elementary to check our body in time. This is true for individuals that want to stay healthy. And this is true for companies, which want their workforce to stay healthy, paying for this check-up.
Our speakers, Prof. Dr. Kurscheid and Dr. Feld, are renown doctors and health care professionals from Germany who work closely with companies that strive to establish impactful health care plans for their workforce.
Prof. Dr. Kurscheid will present the possibilities of an up-to-date health-check-up, pointing out important considerations for individuals and companies.
Practical implementation cases from companies that Prof. Dr. Kurscheid and Dr. Feld have worked with in Germany will include Deutsche Bank, Ikea, Metro, Boehringer Ingelheim Pharma, ThyssenKrupp.
