Event Details

We have all been through the ups and downs as entrepreneurs, and we are still standing – but maybe, only just barely. Given the kinds of pressures we face, entrepreneurs are a high risk group for stress, depression, and suicide. Yet not many are aware they are at limits or how to articulate their vulnerabilities. Using members’ experience as case studies, Enoch Li will talk about the little discussed aspect of entrepreneurship: the bleak days when things are not
going well, and how to cope with such emotions and anxieties.

Key takeaways:
• Identify the points where stress seeps in and signals of mental health challenges
• Discuss ways to cope with anxieties in this fast-paced, make or break lifestyle
• Create a safe space for personal reflections on own entrepreneurial challenges with the adult stages of development

This will be a closed event.

Calling for Volunteer Case Studies
To prepare for the event, Enoch would need to interview 2-3 members about their struggles next week (about 45 minutes, prefer face-to-face). She will probe into the associated emotions, frustrations, and fears, and it could dredge up some discomfort but would be helpful for everyone’s learning. The material will be used anonymously for the case studies.
Please note that in exchange for Enoch coming to do this talk, we hope that these 2-3 members also consent to her using the interview data (anonymously of course!) for her future research and presentations in entrepreneurial depression. Please PM Dominic if you would like to volunteer.
